For my final project I chose to focus my topic on the affects that social media can have on a person’s mental health and wellbeing. I chose this topic to show awareness of mental health and the effects of digital technology on it.
After researching many different aspects of digital technology, I chose to focus on the use of social media because of how popular and relatable it is to most of today’s society. My project involves a small collection of illustrations depicting some of the mental health
issues, as well as benefits, of social media including social media addiction, sleep deprivation, stress, anxiety, depression, and on the plus side, improvements in education and socialisation.
My next goal is to continue designing and working on many projects around filming, animating, games and concept art. I want to continue developing my skills as an artist and to take part in both national and international projects in the future and to share my experiences with future students of design.
