Hippie style emerged in the 60s from the anti-Vietnam war protests and has had a significant influence on the fashion trends we see today. My project captures the fashion hippies wore and lifestyle that many of them led, but with a modern perspective.

During my studies at Ara, especially in my second and third year, I have found my passion for fashion photography. I love how it requires me to pay meticulous attention to detail, while still allowing me to express my most creative and playful side. As my project focused on hippie fashion and lifestyles, I was able to experiment with creative styles and aesthetics that reflected the youthful and exotic fashion that arose in the 60s.

Reflecting on the photographs I have taken throughout my time at Ara, there is a clear connection of colour and personality within them. Having this opportunity to exhibit my final project, I am happy that it embodies my overall photographic style.
