Uncommon is a product designed to create ease for fashion consumers to donate their pre-loved garments. This product isn’t just a tote bag it is a simple yet effective bag that can help reduce our clothing waste each day without impacting the current fashion industry, however, using it to our advantage.

The concept of Uncommon is to generate a semicircular system within the current fashion industry. Uncommon gives every newly purchased item the opportunity to do good, through something that every shopper needs, a shopping bag. Your pre-loved garments will then be mailed off to a charity where it will add another cycle to its life.

The overall goal of Uncommon is to stop clothing from ending up in landfill, as in New Zealand we send around 100,000 tonnes of clothing to landfill each year - about 44kg per person. I believe that through altering the way we consume fashion we can start to create a change within the industry. It’s a simple way to go from just talking about recycling to actually doing it.
