WeDo began with an interest in how weddings are customarily defined by white wedding traditions. These traditions can influence the opinion of what a wedding should be and create pressure to include specific elements. Wide acceptance of these traditions mean their relevance is often left unquestioned.

WeDo wishes to establish a new normal by encouraging freedom, flexibility and individuality. The app refocuses the wedding planning process by identifying the shared qualities of a couple and pairing them with unique options. It guides couples to developing ideas that reflect who they are together and connects them with specialised vendors to bring these ideas to life. This increases accessibility to alternative wedding options while minimising stress.

The three-stage structure of the app offers support for all wedding planning aspects and creates a more enjoyable experience. A result that pays closer attention to the representation of shared identity, rather than a generalised wedding package, is produced. WeDo leads the charge in shifting wedding celebrations to better align with modern and diverse communities.
