I am a mixed media artist working within sculptural, photographical, and sound mediums. The work I have produced this year is embodied with my personal relationship with Otautahi; within the four avenues more specifically. Through psychogeographical practices, I have used the form of dérive#(French for “drift”), to respond emotionally to my surrounding environments and thinking subconsciously of said environments. I use these dérives as a starting point for my work, walking aimlessly around Christchurch and documenting through quick-fire film photography and tracking my every move through Strava. I have then taken these dérives and responded through plaster-based and 3D printed sculptures as well as sound that embodies the emotions I felt whilst on these ‘walks’.
