My winter 2023 collection is based on a brief given by Taylor Boutique. At the beginning of the year, I was able to go up to Auckland where I worked in Taylor’s workroom. Through this I became familiar with the brand.

The collection has a minimal style with darker, cooler colours to reflect the cooler weather. I liked using different textures to add more interest to a simple colour palette. It was important to me to use as many 100% ‘composition’ fabrics as possible. By using raw materials such as silk, cotton and wool, I was able to focus more on the sustainability of the garments’ end of life. The fabrics were where I drew most of my inspiration, the fabrics used in this collection are as important as the design. The collection was influenced by Taylor and my style. I enjoyed the challenge of merging the two different styles.
