Rubbish is a huge problem not just for New Zealand but for the whole world. Many people don’t fully understand how much of an issue rubbish can be to the natural environment.
The concept of sustainability and rubbish production has become increasingly more political over the last few years. Most advertising has come from governments trying to encourage adults that rubbish is bad, and the economy will suffer because of our actions. Very rarely does this advertising explain the environmental impacts of littering.
This advertising is also rarely aimed towards children despite them being the future of the planet. Nature Heroes is a campaign that educates people about the negative impacts our actions have on the environment but in a fun way. The campaign encourages children to learn about being sustainable from the perspective of Squid the freshwater snail and some of his friends who are endangered New Zealand animals.
