Visual Communication

Misinformation is an issue that has become increasingly more widespread over recent years and is now often at the forefront of politics. Deliberate misinformation campaigns and talking points have spread through social media platforms and begun to grow and fester here in New Zealand.

This campaign was created to combat this issue through awareness and education.  The campaign takes a stance from a completely neutral standpoint and utilises satire to attract attention and tackle this issue from a different and more lighthearted perspective. This is deliberate, as having a politically charged campaign that openly targets particular beliefs would cause those who hold those beliefs to ignore/not engage with the campaign.

The campaign aims to target people who have been drawn in by misinformation and lies online so the humorous and neutral standpoint is necessary to foster engagement from the target demographic.  Did You Know aims to spread awareness around misinformation and help educate people on how to spot misinformation and curb its spread through traditional means such as posters and through social media platforms.
